Francis scott key ocean city md8/22/2023 ![]() I think management and owners need to find a better way to ensure cleaning is being done properly. I wish I could say the 3 amenities we did enjoy made up for it but it didn't come close. For a family on a very tight budget this was a disappointing stay. And we found a fork under the table.hmmmm what else do they ignore then. The shower tiles need to be tilexed desperately. There was buildup around the faucet that went into the sink every time it got wet. After seeing that and realizing the maid staff doesn't care about cleanliness - I am guessing because there is no one following up on them- we did not complain about how filthy the bathroom was. The floor was never cleaned up so we avoided the area at all cost. They did make note of it and during one of our treks to the room with luggage there was a maid sitting next to it spraying what appeared to be water on it. Our first and only complaint to the front desk was about the horrible mold smell in our room and what appeared to be throw up outside our room. The room which was in the lodge was bitter. Amazing pool, spray ground pirate ship and shuttle. Overall, it was a really fun stay for the kids, but us adults would have preferred more space, bigger beds, and better quality housekeeping service. Our stay here was bittersweet. If we return, we may request one of the “cabin” style rooms to have more room, but I don’t think they were open when we were there. So we “sort of” received housekeeping service. The other 2 garbages did not get emptied and we had to call for more towels and washcloths (and to pick up the other dirty towels). The beds didn’t get made, which is where I left a tip for the housekeeper and it didn’t get taken. When we returned from exploring on the second day, one of our garbage cans had been emptied and half of the dirty towels had been picked up off the floor, with 2 clean towels being replaced (there’s 5 of us) and no washcloths. Also, the hotel booklet advertised daily housekeeping service. There was VERY little room to walk, no good places to put a suitcase. My complaints are that the room was small and felt very cramped with 2 adults, 2 teens, and a kid. The outdoor pool was closed when we went, but there is a 9-hole mini golf course, volleyball court, basketball court, playground, arcade, laundry room with snack machines and even a claw machine! And there was a beautiful picnic area next to a pond where we saw several geese and birds. The indoor pool was a lot of fun I greatly appreciated the poolside bar, as I had forgotten to pack a swimsuit, so having some snacks and fun drinks while the kids swam was great! The list of amenities is quite long. We were grateful for the list of “rainy day activities” because it was cold and windy during our stay. It listed the hotel rules and amenities and also local area attractions. You’re given a booklet on arrival that was very helpful. The room was a little cramped, but had everything we needed besides a luggage rack to put a suitcase on. Also, I’m 5’8” and my feet hung over the end of the bed. The beds are only double size though, not Queen, so we had to sleep mom and a kid on one and dad and a kid on another with the third kid on the pullout bed, as we had a very difficult time fitting two adults on one full size bed. We were grateful for a room that offered 2 beds plus a pullout couch to make a third bed. She gave me a price, and when I told her that their website offered a different price, she got more annoyed and replied “well I can’t see the website.” She was able to offer us a military discount which made the price the same as the regular online price. When I called to make the reservation, the staff member seemed annoyed that I had called. ![]() The indoor pool was a lot of fun I greatly appreciated the poolside bar, as I had forgotten to pack a swimsuit, so having some snacks and fun drinks while. ![]()
